Requirements

  • High school or equivalent (required).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Medical Assistant or EMT: 2 years (preferred).
  • EMR (Athenahealth preferred) systems: 1 year (preferred).
  • Compassionate and dedicated patient care: 2 years (preferred).
  • Certified Medical Assistant (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for visits.
  • Record patient medical history, vital signs, and chief complaints accurately.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Administer medications as directed and ensure proper documentation.
  • Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) accurately and confidentially.
  • Prepare medical charts for patient visits and ensure completeness.
  • Contact patients with testing results under the direction of the provider.
  • Obtain Prior authorization of medications and procedures if needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and create a comforting environment for patients.
  • Answer patient questions, address concerns, and relay messages to healthcare providers.
  • Adhere to all healthcare regulations and privacy laws (HIPAA).
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Assist with infection control measures and ensure proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
