About The Position

The Medical Assistant position at Northern Nevada Medical Group is a full-time role focused on providing comprehensive patient care under the direction of a physician. Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certificate required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Fluent with medical terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
• Interviewing patients and measuring vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Performing venipuncture and other procedures as directed by the physician within the scope of practice.
• Documenting patient information in the Electronic Medical Record according to IPM guidelines.
• Preparing treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Covering the front desk as required.
• Participating in decision-making and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensuring patient rooms, nursing stations, and storage areas are stocked and clean, managing product expiration dates.
• Distributing referrals to physicians and insurance companies, maintaining proper documentation.
• Pre-authorizing prescriptions and clinical tests as necessary.
• Scheduling diagnostic imaging studies and other appointments for patients.
