About The Position

The main function of this position is to fulfill patient care responsibilities as assigned. This includes organizing patient flow, preparing exam rooms, and accompanying patients to exam rooms. The role involves documenting patient history, charting, collecting specimens, relaying instructions to patients, and assisting patients as necessary. Additionally, the position requires performing patient screening, which includes documenting patient history, performing medication reconciliation, and obtaining vitals. The individual will assist the doctor with physical exams and office procedures as necessary. Administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient medical records, referrals, and prior authorizations are also part of the responsibilities. The role requires maintaining inventory of clinical equipment and supplies, including ordering and restocking when necessary. The individual will need to obtain prior authorizations and book surgeries as needed. Additional responsibilities may be assigned, and the individual is required to float to other GFP offices/locations based on business needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience working in a surgical office strongly preferred
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience with electronic medical records required

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of recognized Medical Assistant/Medical Office Assistant diploma program preferred
