About The Position

Harris Regional Hospital is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for the front office, working day shifts. This position is integral to our healthcare team, where you will be appreciated for who you are, not just what you can do. The hospital is an 86-bed acute care facility offering a variety of services including orthopedics, cardiology, general surgery, women's care, emergency medicine, sports medicine, physical therapy, imaging, and laboratory services. The role includes assisting with direct patient care and other clinic activities such as preparing exam rooms and documenting patient information. We provide on-the-job training and a career assistance program to help you become a Certified Medical Assistant.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Good basic math skills
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to complete American Heart Association BLS certification (CPR) within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Past experience in the medical field
  • Experience working as a medical assistant in a physician's office

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the direct care of patients
  • Prepare exam rooms for patients
  • Obtain vitals and medical history from patients
  • Document pertinent information for patient visits
  • Assist with procedures as directed by the Provider
  • Collect lab samples as needed
