About The Position

We are excited to announce an opening for a Medical Assistant Floater for our Polk County! A Medical Assistant Floater is a skilled healthcare professional who performs a wide range of clinical and administrative duties across different departments or locations within a healthcare facility. They are adaptable and able to provide support to various healthcare practitioners, ensuring efficient patient care and smooth clinic operations. In this role, you will perform both clinical and administrative duties under the direct supervision of our Physicians. Your warm and welcoming demeanor will help put patients at ease throughout their visit, as you provide support during diagnostic examinations and treatments, administer medications, draw blood, and facilitate communication between patients and physicians. You will thrive in our fast-paced, people-driven environment, enjoying the chance to assist our patients both in person and over the phone. Your passion for caring for others will have a positive impact on the health and wellness of the patients we serve. Additionally, you will take pride in the vital role you play in helping our doctors and staff deliver excellent care.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Electronic medical records (EMR) experience (eClinicalWorks preferred)
  • Assigned Clinic Locations: BVL Kissimmee, Oak Street Kissimmee, St. Cloud, Poinciana, and Davenport

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and draw blood (venipuncture).
  • Ensure patients are in the exam room within 15 minutes of check-in.
  • Scan patient documents into the system.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and lab requests.
  • Prepare patient charts 24 hours in advance.
  • Answer patient messages and process refill requests promptly.
  • Maintain organized and stocked medication, exam, and lab rooms.
  • Perform routine lab tests and complete HEDIS measures.
  • Coordinate patient flow and maintain records.
  • Participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
