Job Description: Medical Assistant- Float (Urology Practice) Location: Brooklyn & Staten Island, NY Hours/Days: 5 8.5 Hour Shifts; Monday - Friday (between 7-7) Organization: New York Health (NYH) - Urology In this role, you will:
Requirements
- A Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
- Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
- Must be able to float to our Brooklyn and Staten island urology locations
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred)
- Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording.
- Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests.
- Record patients' vital signs.
- Prepare patients for examinations.
- Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
- Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process.
- Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures.
- Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
- Other duties as assigned.
