About The Position

UT Urgent Care Clinic has provided medical care for acute illnesses and minor injuries to Knoxville, TN and surrounding counties since 2007. UT Urgent Care is seeking an experienced, well-qualified medical assistant float for our Northshore location, who must be a team player and comfortable working in a fast-paced urgent care environment. A successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties but not limited to: Job Description: Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families during visit, by demonstrating sensitivity to patients’ comfort and privacy. Accurately records patient history, complete patient vitals, retrieves basic condition of patient and reports to appropriate practitioner. Assists provider with examination, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care, such as: applying splints and wound dressings, collecting and recording various laboratory tests, administering oral and injectable medication. Obtain and record demographic, insurance and financial information Collect co-pay, co-insurances and past due balances Verify insurance eligibility and ability to relay relevant information on payment policies. Position Highlights: Flexible Schedule: 40-hour work week scheduled between 4, 10-hour shifts per week. Clinic Hours: 12-hour weekday shift, 9AM-9PM/9-hour weekend shift, 9AM-6PM Shift Differential: Up to $2.00 per hour Growth: Performance based pay increases and promotions are available for team members to achieve at their own pace Professional Development: Opportunities for educational programs, professional development workshops and certifications offered through University of Tennessee Medical Center

Requirements

  • 12-hour/9-hour shifts, including ability to work weekends (no overnights)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Requirement of GED or Higher School Diploma
  • Completion of medical assistant program, State of TN LPN license, or 2+ years’ experience working in medical office setting.
