Provides direct and indirect patient care activities and carries out provider orders as appropriate. The MA assists fellow employees in providing the highest quality, personalized patient care and maintains a positive working relationship with the health care team. Maintains and upholds established patient care, operational expectations, and employee policies in alignment with the clinic operational leadership teams. Supports the Gonzaba coordinated care model by working with other GMG providers and support departments/functions to ensure a patient-centered approach is provided at all times. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. General Requirements: All duties performed will be done accurately and in a timely manner. Furthers patient care by communicating effectively with providers, coordinating tests, procedures, surgeries, hospitalizations and providing patients with community resources as needed. Participates in educational programs as needed. Assumes responsibility for maintaining clinical competencies according to Gonzaba Medical Group policy. Ensures customer service is always maintained at the highest level. May need to travel to support patient care at another GMG location. At times the MA will need to float to other pods (in the clinic or another location), during these times all pod responsibilities should be completed including but not limited to triage, discharge, phone notes, refills, call confirmations, etc. Exercise tact and courtesy when dealing with patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers. Must always adhere to customer service expectations including in-person and virtual (via telephone, or telehealth applications) communication. Maintains strict confidentiality. Other duties as assigned.
