About The Position

Entech Medical Staffing is seeking a Medical Assistant FLOAT for a busy client in Clinton Township and Saint Clair Shores. This role involves working with children and requires knowledge of childhood immunization schedules, as well as experience in administering vaccines. The ideal candidate will exhibit a positive and caring attitude towards patients and staff, and will be responsible for various clinical and clerical tasks in a pediatric setting.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate and/or transcripts unless Certified or Registered
• Minimum 1 year of medical assistant experience
• Previous EMR computer experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with vital signs, blood draws, administering injections, and giving vaccinations (1 year each)

Nice To Haves

• Pediatrics experience (1 year preferred)
• BLS Certification with the American Heart Association (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Room and interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
• Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Obtain lab specimens and prepare them for testing, draw blood, and administer immunizations and injections.
• Give breathing treatments and administer hearing and vision screenings.
• Record all data in the electronic medical record (EMR) system and send prescriptions.
• Assist front desk staff with answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and obtaining co-pays.
• Perform basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
• Perform basic materials management functions including ordering and stocking supplies.
• Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• Document the provider's encounter with patients and list all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions.
