About The Position

The Medical Assistant is responsible for screening patients and obtaining pertinent information. This role involves assisting the physician or advanced practitioner during patient visits, ensuring that care is tailored to age-specific needs. The Medical Assistant will also assist in all aspects of patient care and communication as instructed, maintain the exam rooms and work environment, and provide support to the clinic as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.
• Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.
• Prefer medical office, insurance, referral and prior authorization, hospital or computer experience.
• Experience in office clerical activities desirable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
• CMA or RMA preferred.
