Medical Assistant - Float Pool
About The Position
Sentara Medical Group is seeking to hire an individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant. This is a part-time Float Pool position which will require travel in the Peninsula. Primary work locations will be Hampton, Newport News, Yorktown. Travel to Williamsburg, Gloucester, King & Queen as needed. Differential pay is provided for the travel and flexibility that is needed for this role. Overview Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)
- BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
- 1 year of clinical or administrative experience
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)
- Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
