The position involves assisting patients, staff, and physicians to maintain a high level of efficiency in operations and customer service while providing quality care to a designated patient population. The role requires clinical competencies, successful completion of clinical skills, and adherence to safety and documentation protocols. The Medical Assistant will also be responsible for organizing daily tasks, managing patient flow, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards.

  • Assist patients, staff, and physicians to maintain operational efficiency and customer service.
  • Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skill in assigned area.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately per guidelines.
  • Prepare patients for examinations or procedures.
  • Obtain complete and accurate consent for procedures/surgery.
  • Accurately document patient care per protocol.
  • Manage telephone messages and ensure prompt return of calls.
  • Monitor patient flow and physician schedules.
  • Participate in clinical projects as directed.
  • Complete Quality Assurance assignments and ensure department compliance.
  • Certification of completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED.
  • 1 Year MA experience in related clinical area.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants - PREFERRED.
  • Hospital Corpsman (HM) - US Navy - PREFERRED.
