We are seeking individuals who desire to use their unique skills to innovate and make an impact. The Medical Assistant Faculty member is responsible for providing high-quality instruction, guidance, and support to students enrolled in the Medical Assistant program. This role ensures that students gain the clinical, administrative, and professional skills required to succeed in entry-level medical assisting positions. The faculty member participates in curriculum development, classroom and lab instruction, student assessment, and program evaluation in alignment with institutional and accreditation standards.

  • Instruction of at least 12 credit hours in the Medical Assistant program.
  • Design, implement, and assess the curriculum for the Medical Assistant program to ensure alignment with accreditation standards (e.g., CAAHEP/MAERB) and current industry practices
  • Oversee adherence to all accreditation, certification, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Track and analyze student performance metrics, including retention rates, graduation rates, certification exam results, and job placement success
  • Coordinate and manage clinical and externship placements while fostering relationships with healthcare organizations
  • Conduct ongoing program evaluations through data collection, analysis, and thorough reporting
  • Support student success by providing academic advising, mentoring, and career development activities
  • Act as a representative of the program at institutional, community, and professional events
  • Ability to work in classroom, office, and clinical lab environments
  • Occasional travel
  • Developing clinical/professional affiliations, monitoring students at clinic/professional sites, and directing clinical affiliations (once the program seeks accreditation)
  • Recruiting and retaining students through graduation
  • Any and all other functions as requested by a supervisor
  • Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (such as NHA, CMA through AAMA, or RMA through AMT).
  • A minimum of three years of experience as a medical assistant, encompassing both clinical and administrative duties.
  • A minimum of one year of teaching experience in postsecondary education is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Requires computer knowledge, strong customer service skills, and Spanish is a plus
  • Must be a confident professional with a strong ability to engage individuals in public settings
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License as well as have access to reliable transportation
  • Be energetic, enthusiastic, and highly self-motivated
  • Always maintain a professional appearance and attitude
  • Responsibilities may include evening and weekend hours
  • Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
  • Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand and walk.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry and/or move light to medium weight up to twenty-five (25) pounds and/or exert up to twenty-five (25) pounds of force. This may include loading and unloading items on-site or on campus.

  • Experience with program accreditation processes is preferred.
