About The Position

The Medical Assistant at Evernorth Health Services plays a vital role in supporting healthcare providers by assisting with patient examinations and treatments. Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or on-the-job training with the ability to obtain CCMA certification.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• At least 1 year of front and back office experience.
• Phlebotomy skills are required.
• Solid computer skills, including experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Team-oriented with strong time management skills.
• Responsible and reliable with the ability to work clinic hours and locations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients by verifying coverage and eligibility and completing appropriate paperwork.
• Obtain patient history and take vital signs.
• Assist with coordination of care and administer medications.
• Prepare examination rooms and clean/sterilize instruments per protocol.
• Answer telephone calls in compliance with departmental procedures and route calls appropriately.
• Schedule appointments and verify membership according to various benefit coverage.
• Review preprinted instruction sheets with patients.
• Attend department staff meetings and in-service programs.
• Cross-train to new procedures and departments.
• Assist in orienting new employees and temporary staff to job responsibilities.
