About The Position

Join our Endocrinology team as a Medical Assistant and support patients managing conditions like diabetes, thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, and adrenal/pituitary issues. You'll partner with providers to deliver hands-on clinical care, clear patient education, and smooth clinic flow in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required (may be obtained upon hire).
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience as a CNA, PCA, or MA preferred but not required.
  • Comfortable with EMR documentation, patient communication, and teamwork.
  • Willingness to learn endocrinology terminology, diabetes tech workflows, and prior-auth processes.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients; obtain accurate vitals, histories, and medication lists.
  • Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., glucose, A1c, urine pregnancy) and document results.
  • Assist with medication management: refills, prior authorizations, and patient assistance programs.
  • Support diabetes technology: help patients with CGM/pump onboarding, downloads, and basic troubleshooting per protocol.
  • Administer injections and immunizations per provider order and within scope/training.
  • Coordinate labs, imaging, and specialty testing (e.g., thyroid ultrasound, DEXA); track results and relay provider instructions.
  • Manage inbound/outbound calls and portal messages; provide timely, friendly communication.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked clinic environment; follow infection control standards.
  • Document accurately in the EMR; assist with care coordination and patient education.
