About The Position
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians, PA, or NP with clerical duties, patient flow, patient care, and procedures. Essential Job Functions include preparing the examination room, escorting patients, maintaining efficient patient flow, and ensuring proper preparation for patient visits. The MA communicates and provides care consistent with the age, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of the patient, answers the telephone appropriately, schedules appointments, stocks examination rooms, reconciles encounters, and documents vital signs and medication lists in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The role also involves adhering to safety precautions, maintaining proficiency with department-specific equipment, and demonstrating flexibility with various work schedules. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
