Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) credentials or must be obtained within 6 months of date of hire.
• AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required.
• Ability to successfully complete general and department role based specific skills validation and competency testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support and assist with administrative tasks under direct supervision of a licensed practitioner.
• Record and relay patient information, symptoms, and concerns to the patient's medical provider or registered nurse.
• Complete standardized rooming and perform clinical intake, health data collection, and documentation.
• Implement age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs.
• Reinforce patient/family teaching plan based on identified health education needs.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Document patient information in EHR.
• Organize and prioritize daily work assignments to support patient needs and operational efficiency.
• Provide clinical support under the supervision of a licensed practitioner.
• Document and capture charges for clinical support services rendered within the patient visit.
