About The Position

TexomaCare is comprised of primary care physicians and a variety of specialists in nine local communities. Working with TexomaCare means you will work with a care team of physicians, advanced practitioners, and staff providing compassionate and quality care. The Medical Assistant - Family Practice - Durant, Oklahoma position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties, which include: Assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture, and procedures as directed by the physician within the scope of practice in the State. Recording documentation in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guidelines. Preparing treatment rooms for the examination of patients. Assisting in covering the front desk as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certificate preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is required.
• Experience with patient check-in and check-out process (according to clinic protocol).
• Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities
