Requirements

• At least one completed semester in a nursing or medical education program.
• Active Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification required unless MA or nursing education requirement is met.
• 1 year of transcription/scribe/MA or PCT experience preferred.
• Experience in a medical setting working with providers.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Experience typing or transcribing conversations.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical transcription duties as a real-time Documentation Assistant for a physician.
• Route and process documentation and deliver reports to physicians in a timely manner.
• Capture accurate and detailed documentation of patient encounters.
• Assist physicians and nursing personnel to maintain smooth office operations and continuity of patient care.
• Implement care plans through coordination with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Communicate pertinent data and information relative to the patient in a timely manner.
• Promote infection prevention through standard precautions and proper procedures.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and accurately measure and record vital signs.
• Ensure all documentation entries are authenticated by the provider, including date and time.
• Assist the provider in navigating the EHR and responding to EHR messages.
