About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies.
• Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training program.
• Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by a recognized certifying body.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification from AHA within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Properly prepares the examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.
• Completes patient rooming procedures including vital signs and data collection.
• Accurately administers and documents unit dose medications/immunizations according to clinic policy.
• Performs EKGs and laboratory testing as per CLIA license following successful training.
• Ensures accurate and clear documentation in patient records, may function as provider scribe after training.
• Completes assigned clerical activities and manages supply maintenance/ordering as directed.
• Assists with scheduling follow-up care/appointments as ordered.
• Distributes pre-printed patient education materials and directs patient questions to provider or RN.
• Functions within the documented Monument Health Scope of Responsibilities.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
