As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in facilitating patient visits and procedures, conducting routine laboratory tests, and contributing to quality outcomes for our practice's population. You will also participate in Network quality initiatives focused on best practices.

Requirements

• Diploma from a Medical Assistant program OR a high school diploma + 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice.
• Dermatology certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward problem-solving.
• Ability to collaborate with others in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider at an ambulatory health care site with patient visits and procedures.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests and manage referrals.
• Participate in quality initiatives regarding best practices.
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including cleaning and stocking supplies.
• Room patients and manage the efficient flow of the provider’s caseload.
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
• Document care using the Nextech EMR system.
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
