About The Position

The Medical Assistant position at Dayton Children's Hospital involves performing both clinical and clerical functions within a community-based primary care setting. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a program in Medical Assisting is required.
• Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) is required.
• CPR certification is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with EPIC software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine clinical skills for patient care, including taking vital signs, weight, and height.
• Assist with medical procedures as needed.
• Document patient information in the EPIC system accurately and timely.
• Ensure all necessary documentation is complete for provider encounters.
• Manage patient flow and chaperone patients as required.
• Stock examination rooms and order necessary tests and supplies.
• Perform tasks delegated by the RN, nurse practitioner, or physician.
• Interact with other department personnel to maintain timely patient flow.
