About The Position

The Medical Assistant at Copperfield will play a crucial role in providing patient support and ensuring an exceptional patient experience. This position involves welcoming patients, preparing them for appointments, and facilitating communication regarding their care. The Medical Assistant will perform various clinical tasks, including laboratory tests, vital sign documentation, and medication administration, all while demonstrating kindness and compassion in patient interactions.

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant or eligible within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers preferred; required within 90 days of employment.
• High School Diploma/Equivalency required.
• Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs, suture/staple removal, dressing changes, and other patient care activities.
• Collect and document vital signs, histories, and screenings.
• Authorize prescription refills as directed.
• Prepare patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Perform phlebotomy and correctly process specimens.
• Clean and maintain treatment rooms and equipment.
• Demonstrate kindness and compassion in all patient interactions.
• Perform quality controls and equipment checks.
• Participate in brand marketing to engage and increase patient volume.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the Provider.
• Provide instruction to the patient regarding medications and diet.
