About The Position

We are seeking a capable Medical Assistant / MA Coordinator who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population. The position involves performing assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN. Responsibilities include performing routine and more complex medical assistant clinical duties such as taking vital signs, administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms in an outpatient care setting. The role also includes assisting in emergency situations, performing some administrative duties, maintaining patients' charts, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Current BLS from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • Medical Assistant certification from NHA, NCCT, AAMA, or AMT required.
  • One year work experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred certification is the CMA or RMA.
  • Experience in an outpatient care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned patient care and observation duties under the direction of a licensed provider, RN, or LPN.

  • Reinforce patient and family education.
  • Maintain patients' charts and records data ensuring proper identification and confidentiality.
  • Order, verify, and store unit supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and healthy environment in compliance with safety standards.
