About The Position

Join our team in our Outpatient Infusion Clinic as a Certified Medical Assistant! In this role, you will be responsible for providing clinical support services in a professional and courteous manner. You will provide direct and indirect patient care in the office/clinic setting under the direction and supervision of a physician or advanced practice provider. Effective communication with physicians and other team members about patients' clinical conditions, including symptoms and diagnostic study results, is essential. You will also ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and SMC Physician Practice Management policies and procedures. Your care and communication will meet the needs of each patient and family, and you will complete all patient documentation and charges accurately and timely. In some clinics, you may be required to coordinate and schedule patient appointments and gather and document patient demographic information. Facilitating appropriate communication between back office and front office processes is crucial for successful clinic performance.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Previous demonstrated MA experience in the physician practice setting preferred.
  • Understanding of confidentiality ethics and HIPAA regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Some knowledge of medical terminology.
