The Clinical Medical Assistant under the Supervision of the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Nursing Coordinator will be an essential team member at the center of the groundbreaking programs and collaborative services underway at our Behavioral Health Clinic in Newburgh New York. Requirements

  • An individual with a caring and non-judgmental approach to others that values diversity and promotes cultural awareness and understanding.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to provide clerical and administrative support to a variety of health professionals.
  • Top skills in organization, communication, data entry, electronic health records, and office equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent person to person skills, a track record of exceptional customer service (most especially with at-risk and vulnerable people.)
  • Experience with medical terminology, medical billing and insurance companies, able to provide clerical and administrative support to a variety of health professionals.
  • Excellent English language skills.
  • A heart for client advocacy.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or 3 years of experience working with doctors and nurses as they provide treatment and care.
  • Proven work experience delivering administrative support in a large organization with a desire to support and serve others.
  • Experience with medical terminology, medical billing and insurance companies
  • Must be capable to sit or stand in front of a computer for long-periods of time
  • Able to work in open space floor plan
  • Must be capable to move throughout work day (and follow individuals throughout the community)
  • Work alongside co-workers within 3 feet
  • Must be able to move in tight spaces
  • Occasional lifting of > _25+ pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Clinic or hospital ward experience preferred.
