Medical Assistant, Certified - (FT) Oncology
About The Position
Under general supervision in an outpatient clinical setting, provides initial patient intake and assists with direct patient care as assigned. Performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol. Delivers direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Provider. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for continuous improvement. Practices quality service as evidenced through QI results and patient satisfaction. Maintains positive behavior, approach, attitude and commitment to interpersonal service. Serves as a role model for the organization’s 5-Star Customer Service initiative following established Behavior Based Standards. Consistently promotes teamwork and a collaborative culture. Responsible for abiding by and adhering to all HDH Corporate Compliance Program initiative and standards.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program or have related experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory setting for primary care.
- Phlebotomy skills preferred or ability to complete.
- Current CPR certification or willingness to complete within orientation period.
- Must have highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrate high ethical standards.
- Able to maintain self-control and function under pressure during emergency situations.
- Should be physically and emotionally able to handle irregular hours with minimal absences.
- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking/lifting.
- Must have sufficient hearing and vision to carry out the nursing duties.
- Agility and ability to bend over, lift, reach, pull, and dexterity are also required.
Nice To Haves
