Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required.
• BLS certification required.
• Level I: No experience required.
• Level II: 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform intake with patients including vital signs and clinical information.
• Administer medications to patients as ordered by providers or established protocols.
• Review education information with patients and families based on diagnosis and provider request.
• Triage office administrative duties backing up triage nurse including Epic Inbasket and setting up prescriptions.
• Work with patients via phone for administrative tasks.
• Setup for therapeutic injections for providers.
• Stock and maintain inventory of patient care supplies and linen.
• Clean and stock rooms to maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.
• Maintain clinical environment to meet JCAHO and OSHA regulations.
• Perform other duties as delegated by clinic leadership.
