About The Position

Meritas Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to join our Northland Women's Health Care team. This position offers a great opportunity to serve our community and be part of a growing organization. The hours of operation for the Northland Women's Health Care practice are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with a primary schedule during those hours and periodic needs to work outside of this schedule to serve patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited medical assisting program.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through an accredited certification organization.
  • 2 years of experience in a physician's office setting, preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association.
  • Basic office skills, patient-centered mindset, excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers to maximize patient volume by preparing patients for visits, administering medications, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and returning patient calls in a timely manner.
  • Complete physician orders and facilitate care, which may include phoning patient prescriptions, scheduling and arranging labs and diagnostic tests, and providing instructions to patients regarding diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.
  • Maintain effective patient communication and efficient patient flow, ensuring all required documentation is available in the medical record.
  • Ensure the orderliness and cleanliness of examination rooms, stock assigned areas, and follow all regulatory and patient safety clinical standards.
  • Perform administrative duties such as greeting patients, registration, scheduling, pre-certification of tests, processing insurance forms, preparing financial records, answering phones, and entering ambulatory care charges.
