About The Position

The position involves working closely with the Psych ARNP and medical team to provide quality and comprehensive care to patients. The role requires effective communication of health information, patient care, and coordination of care among various clinics and team members.

Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant in the state of Washington with an active certification.
  • Ability to access and complete data entry in the Electronic Practice Management (EPM) program.
  • Ability to access web-based applications and other computer programs including tele-health.
  • Fully functional in use of the Electronic Health Records (EHR) program.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates health information to patients, support staff, and team members.
  • Shadows the Psych ARNP’s travel schedule to focus on the Psych ARNP’s panel, providing additional support to various clinics as needed.
  • Answers patient phone calls, documents and communicates questions in Electronic Health Records (EHR) to provider if necessary.
  • Relays appropriate information to the patient from provider documents in EHR.
  • Assists providers with patient education.
  • Coordinates and processes refill requests with provider.
  • Monitors and processes voicemail, EHR messaging and email in a timely manner.
  • Assists care team with assessment of patient and with identification of diseases and conditions.
  • Coordinates care, referrals and transitions of care for patients, in communication with other members of the FHC care team.
  • Provides nursing care for FHC patients following established standards and practices and acting within the scope of the LPN license or MA-C certification.
  • Obtains and records vital signs and patient history.
  • Administers medications by unit or single dosage, or by a dosage calculated and verified by a health care practitioner.
  • Performs diagnostic testing limited to electrocardiography and relevant tests waived under the federal clinical laboratory improvement amendments (CLIA) program.
  • Performs, prepares for, and assists with procedures in accordance with clinic protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs standing orders for patients as approved by the Medical Director.
  • Triages patients to level of employee licensure: assesses patients as needed and provides appropriate nursing care.
