Position Summary The Medical Assistant (MA) serves as a patient care coordinator and advocate, maintaining clinical supplies, documentation, and optimal patient flow to ensure a positive patient experience. This role follows OSHA/WISHA and other compliance and regulatory guidelines. šŸ’° $5,000 Signing Bonus for Certified Medical Assistants! (Only available for CMAs with active WA state license.) We are hiring Certified Medical Assistants (CMA), Registered Medical Assistants (MA-R), or Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA). For MA-R and CNA candidates, on-the-job training will be provided to help you grow into the full scope of the role. Key Duties and Responsibilities The key duties and responsibilities of the Medical Assistant include, but are not limited to: Direct Patient Care Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and sufficient supplies. Dispose of contaminated materials and sterilize medical instruments per infection control standards. Obtain vital signs, patient history, and chief complaints. Position patients for exams and procedures. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens. Perform other patient care duties as assigned. Procedural Support Assist providers with in-office procedures, maintaining a sterile field and aseptic technique. Position or hold patients as needed during procedures or imaging. Hand instruments to the provider and assist as directed. Documentation & Communication Accurately chart all relevant information in the electronic medical record (EMR). Report test results to patients per physician instruction. Handle patient calls, post-op follow-ups, and voicemail messages promptly (preferably same day, within 24 business hours). Maintain thorough documentation of all encounters and communications. Coordinate diagnostic testing and care with other facilities as ordered. Complete patient disability and FMLA forms. Facilitate communication with referring providers and specialists. Clinic Operations Maintain and restock supplies and equipment. Support team duties and assist with special tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1–2 years of medical office experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medications
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency and accurate data entry
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, learning, and quality patient care

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license preferred.
