Your Role With Us: Certified Medical Assistant- Urgent Care. This vital role involves comprehensive patient care through assessment, intervention, coordination, and documentation. Medical Assistants evaluate patient conditions, promptly alert physicians to critical changes, and document vital signs and histories according to standards. They prioritize care based on clinical needs, manage physician orders, and ensure smooth departmental workflow while maintaining effective communication with team members. Key responsibilities include documentation of vital signs and reason for visit, providing thorough discharge instructions, performing laboratory tests, administering medications/vaccinations safely, and demonstrating competency across all clinical care areas. Accurate documentation in electronic medical records and appropriate assignment of facility charges are also integral to this role, ensuring continuity and quality of care.

Requirements

  • Current medical assistant certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Experience in either an urgent care facility or family practice office preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for effective information flow.
  • Competency in the performance of patient care skills.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Adequate visual and hearing ability for clinical procedures.
  • Manual dexterity for performing skills and procedures.
  • Ability to safely lift, pull, and turn a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted and more than 100 pounds with assistance.
