About The Position
Harborview - Primary Care at Hobson Clinic (Pioneer Square Clinics) has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C). Conveniently located in the north Beacon Hill neighborhood, Harborview’s Primary Care at Hobson Place Clinic offers comprehensive wellness care and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses for those over the age of 18. We emphasize engaging the unhoused, those living in shelters or in supportive housing in primary care, but are open to all community members for care. Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent
- Must be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire. Failure to achieve and/or maintain this designation will result in termination of employment
- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
Responsibilities
- Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
- Perform injections
- Prepare and clean exam rooms
- Submit medication prior authorizations
- Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
- Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers
- Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
- Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
- Assist in transporting patients as required
