About The Position

UPMC Children's Community Pediatrics is hiring a Limited Part-Time Medical Assistant to support the office in Pittsburgh. Weekend and evening availability required to support the hours of operation. Clinic Hours: 4:30p-9p mon-fri 9:30a-6p sat, 9:30a-6p sun.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior pediatric office experience strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform labs, and assist physicians with procedures.
• Document patient information and relay instructions.
• Prepare and clean patient rooms, manage inventory, and ensure infection control.
• Schedule appointments, verify insurance, manage charts, and handle front office duties.
• Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and PA Department of Health regulations.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and collecting specimens.
• Answer calls and provide patient education.
• Administer injectable medication and vaccines under physician supervision.
