Sign-On Bonus for External applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students only About the Unit Our team of Mas support our BHS (Behavioral Health Specialists) and Care Managers that are embedded in the offices in primary care. Currently, each MA supports team members in about 10 offices. Patients are referred to BHS for behavioral health needs such as anxiety, depression, ADHD assessments and patients are referred to care management for chronic disease management and care coordination. The MA role is virtual, consisting of accessing a referral queue, checking benefits for patients, and scheduling patients for appointments with our BHS team and Care managers. They also run a cancel/no show list and call patients to reschedule their appointments. If an urgent message comes in, for best practice, they forward that message within 15 minutes to a pool of BHS team members. The MA team also helps support some work in the East and provides benefit checks to a small group of patients daily as well. About Outpatient Clinics Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area. Scope of work As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients. This position helps support Social Workers and Nurse Care Managers with insurance verification and scheduling.
