About The Position

Requirements

• Bilingual
• 5 years of experience in medical assisting
• High school diploma or GED
• BLS Certification
• Certified Medical Assistant
• Experience with EMR systems (1 year)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience (1 year)
• Wound care experience (1 year)
• Management experience (not applicable as there are no direct reports)

Responsibilities

• Take patient histories and perform vital signs, recording information in the EMR system.
• Prepare patients for procedures.
• Maintain appropriate lab logs.
• Operate and maintain autoclave for instrument care on a regular schedule.
• Clean and maintain examination and treatment rooms daily.
• Manage equipment and supply inventory.
• Serve as a liaison between physicians and patients.
• Copy and mail requests for medical records ensuring HIPAA compliance.
• Function as a team member, being flexible and providing backup as needed.
• Complete prior authorizations and referrals for imaging and prescriptions.
• Coordinate care for patients with outside offices.
