You will play a key role in patient health by administering injections, drawing blood, and helping with diagnostic tests. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • BLS/CPR Certification required
  • Up to one year experience
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
  • Basic front desk, clerical or healthcare support specialist skills/experience
  • Ability to work with clinical staff, works well under pressure, and multitask within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to the concepts of preventive health care and team approach to health care delivery
  • Experience working with computers
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Phlebotomy skills preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical records, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients to collect medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
  • Record medical history, vital statistics, and test results accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Collect and prepare blood, tissue, or other specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Assist physicians during patient examinations, ensuring all instruments and materials are readily available.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms by ensuring cleanliness and restocking supplies.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, and manage contaminated supplies following safety protocols.
  • Conduct phone consultations with patients regarding test results and health concerns.
  • Process specimens with proper labeling and prepare them for lab pickups.
  • Perform phlebotomy and other diagnostic tests as required.
  • Administer medications, including oral, intramuscular, SubQ, and topical, as ordered by the provider.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all patient care activities.
  • Stock exam rooms with necessary supplies, check for expired items, and manage waste appropriately.
  • Participate in OSHA compliance programs and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a respectful and courteous environment for patients and staff alike.
  • Collaborate within a primary care medical home model to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Attend safety training programs and adhere to established safety protocols.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in compliance with Legacy and governmental standards.
  • Report any safety concerns promptly and follow exposure control plans as required.
  • Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Participate in annual education programs and take on other duties as assigned.
