About The Position

The Medical Assistant position at MD Kids Lake Highlands in Dallas, TX, is a full-time role requiring bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English. The primary function of this role is to perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician, focusing on both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The Medical Assistant will support clinician and care management teams in the maintenance of chronic disease management, examination, and treatment of the pediatric patient population. A sign-on bonus of $1000 is offered for new hires.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical foreign doctors must have a Bachelor of Science degree in General Medicine.
• MA Diploma/Certification required or a minimum of 3 years MA experience.
• Active BLS certification required.
• Current, valid driver's license required.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality patient experience and ensure a safe patient environment.
• Perform and document patient's intake vitals including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate.
• Interview patients based on age appropriateness and specialty needs, updating medical records accurately.
• Prepare patients for clinician examination and assist clinicians in necessary procedures.
• Perform and document vaccine and medication reconciliation with patients.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and administration of vaccines.
• Complete patient follow-up tasks including answering phones and handling correspondence.
• Perform phlebotomy and lab sample collection.
• Adhere to organizational information security policies.
