About The Position

The Medical Assistant - BILINGUAL position at Florida Medical Clinic involves providing direct patient care and assisting physicians or mid-level practitioners in a family practice setting. Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience required.
  • Completion of MA certification program required.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Basic computer proficiency required.
  • CPR and CMA certification preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Interview patients and take medical history.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the physician or mid-level practitioner.
  • Complete lab and diagnostic requests and keep charts current.
  • Screen calls within physician and nursing guidelines.
  • Prepare patients for examination or treatment with necessary instruments or supplies.
  • Notify provider when patient is ready using IEHR flow tracking events.
  • Perform procedures and treatments as ordered by the provider.
  • Assist provider during examination and with treatment.
  • Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab courier.
  • Handle medication refill requests as directed by the provider.
  • Make follow-up calls to check on patients post-procedure as indicated by the provider.
  • Maintain medical equipment and ensure all equipment is calibrated and cleaned.
  • Complete end-of-day processes and ensure all urgent tasks are addressed.
