Apply today. Banner Health partners with Front Range Community College to offer a 20-week, accelerated Medical Assistant (MA) Apprenticeship Program. This program combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience, preparing apprentices to sit for the NHA Medical Assistant Certification Exam upon successful completion. Selected candidates will begin employment as Physician Practice Patient Assistants (PPPA) starting on December 8th, 2025. They will remain in this role until the next MA Apprenticeship cohort begins in January 2026. Once the program begins in January 2026, apprentices will work closely with an MA Preceptor and begin performing hands-on clinical skills under supervision after 10 weeks. Upon successful completion of the program, apprentices will be eligible to apply for open Medical Assistant positions within Banner Medical Group.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge
  • Current BLS certification
  • 6 months of healthcare experience
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective human relations and communication skills
  • Computer literacy and keyboarding skills

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Additional related education and/or experience

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients and taking vital signs
  • Documenting in patient charts
  • Cleaning and stocking exam rooms
  • Preparing charts and managing prior authorizations
  • Collecting patient data in the intake process
  • Escorting patients back to the patient exam rooms
  • Communicating and reporting condition of patient to the provider
  • Assisting patients and their families with completing documents
  • Maintaining a clean, orderly, and well-stocked environment
  • Receiving incoming calls and documenting messages
  • Ensuring documentation in medical records are complete
  • Optimizing patient flow using effective customer service communication skills

Benefits

  • Estimated Pay Range: $17.23 - $25.85 / hour, based on location, education, & experience
