About The Position

The position of Medical Assistant and DEXA Technician at Elmhurst Hospital involves delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring patient safety and privacy. The role includes providing healthcare services under the direction of the Lead Mammography and/or designee, offering clinical support and direct patient care, and working collaboratively with the care team to ensure patient loyalty. Responsibilities include using Cadence and Radiant for scheduling and performing patient exams, consulting with Radiologists, processing bone density exams, generating DEXA reports, maintaining compliance with records, assisting in transporting acutely ill patients, and performing clerical duties. The position is full-time, requiring 40 hours weekly, with hours from Monday to Friday, either 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma Required.
  • 2 Years professional experience in the chosen discipline.
  • BLS – Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) - American Heart Association (AHA) Required.
  • Allied Health Instructor (AHI) - American Medical Technologists (AMT) Required.
  • ARMA Certified Medical Assistant - American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) Required.

Responsibilities

  • Functions as part of the Women's Health Center while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Provides healthcare services under the direction of the Lead Mammography and/or designee.
  • Provides clinical support and direct patient care by working collaboratively with the care team.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Endeavor Health and the Service Guild.
  • Uses Cadence and Radiant to schedule and perform all patient exams.
  • Consults with Radiologist when appropriate.
  • Utilizes computer for acquisition and processing of bone density exams.
  • Works with physician to generate complete and accurate DEXA reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintains all records in compliance with department, state, and federal policies and regulations.
  • Assists in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.
  • Assists with clerical duties (phone, scheduling, computer entry, etc.).
  • Helps ensure a safe and clean working environment for patients and co-workers.
