About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant specializing in Allergy Testing to join our clinical team. This role is responsible for performing allergy testing procedures, supporting providers during evaluations and treatments, educating patients, and ensuring safe and compliant clinical operations. This position requires travel between multiple clinic locations. A monthly car allowance will be provided. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with skin prick testing, intradermal testing, spirometry, and administering allergy immunotherapy injections in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent preferred)
  • BLS/CPR Certification
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel between clinic locations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent patient communication skills
  • Ability to respond calmly in emergency situations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Team-oriented with professional demeanor
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing.
  • Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving.
  • Occasionally requires exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
  • Occasional travel for clinic activities may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with: o Skin prick testing o Intradermal testing o Allergy immunotherapy administration o Spirometry testing o EMR systems (eClinicalWorks, Athena, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform allergy skin prick and intradermal testing per provider orders
  • Prepare and administer allergen immunotherapy injections under supervision
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions and follow anaphylaxis protocols
  • Perform spirometry and other pulmonary function tests as ordered
  • Assist providers during patient evaluations and procedures
  • Document all testing results and treatments accurately in the EMR
  • Maintain allergy testing inventory and ensure proper storage of extracts
  • Educate patients on allergy testing procedures and expectations
  • Provide post-testing care instructions
  • Review medical histories and update records
  • Assist with patient intake and vital signs
  • Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
  • Ensure emergency medications (e.g., epinephrine) are available and within expiration
  • Maintain sterile field and clean exam rooms
  • Follow clinic protocols for documentation and reporting adverse reactions
  • Travel between multiple clinic locations as scheduled
  • Maintain reliable personal transportation
  • Ensure timely arrival at assigned locations
