Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a medical assistant.
• OR
• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of one of the following programs: medical assistant, emergency medical technician, nurse assistant, licensed practical nurse or armed services medic program.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant.
• BLS Certification. May be required at management discretion.
• Electronic medical record experience.
• One-year experience working in medical office with multiple providers.
• Previous experience working in a medical office of the same specialty.

Responsibilities

• Complete a full patient intake, including vital signs and detailed medical histories, to assist providers in diagnosis and treatment
• Prepare patients for examinations, ensuring they are comfortable and informed
• Administer allergy shots, spirometry testing, skin tests
• Authorize drug refills and communicate prescription information to pharmacies.
• Respond to patient inquiries within the EMR or via phone
• Ensure the clinic runs smoothly by assisting with various administrative and clinical tasks such as prior authorizations, scribing, and patient scheduling
