This role is part time and will work Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays during the school year and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during the summer (8 hour days).

Requirements

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certified by the National Association of Medical Assistants (or equivalent)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Typing speed of at least 40 WPM
  • Proficiency in basic computer software applications
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or one to two years of clinical experience in a medical office
  • Experience with Lab Technician work and/or a Lab Technician Certification
  • Experience with electronic health records (EPIC preferred)
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrating competency in all areas of administrative and clinical duties
  • Updating patient medical records accurately using electronic health records
  • Processing prescription refills as directed
  • Supporting patients in scheduling and follow-up of medical appointments
  • Providing telephone support and routing calls appropriately
  • Preparing exam and treatment rooms with necessary equipment and supplies
  • Assisting providers during exams and procedures
  • Administering treatments such as vaccines, EKGs, and laboratory testing as ordered
  • Providing patient education as instructed by providers
  • Maintaining patient and employee information confidentially following HIPAA policies
