About The Position

Requirements

  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma or Certificate of Competency / Recognition in Medical Assisting Clinical / Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • BLS certification upon hire.
  • Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Outpatient experience.
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
  • Flexibility to work variable shifts, including occasional weekends or holidays.
  • Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-licensed medical care in an assigned outpatient clinical setting.
  • Perform clerical functions associated with the operations of a clinical office as necessary.
