About The Position

The Medical Assistant 3 plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by delivering clinical care and administrative assistance within a medical facility. This position ensures the smooth operation of patient care services by performing clinical tasks, managing patient flow, and maintaining accurate medical records. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Skilled in learning and navigating computerized workflows and data entry tools

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  • Minimum of 1 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Additional certifications such as Phlebotomy Technician or EKG Technician.
  • Familiarity with insurance billing and coding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares exam room, treatment room, supplies and instruments.
  • Prepares patient for physician visit and examination including taking patient vital signs, weight, and record information in medical chart.
  • Perform advanced clinical procedures such as administering injections, conducting EKGs, and preparing patients for examinations.
  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and treatments by managing instruments and supplies.
  • Maintain and update patient medical records accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and communicate effectively with patients regarding their care plans.
  • Obtain prior authorization for drug refills, procedures, and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
  • Contact medical facilities or practices to obtain medical clearances and schedule patient tests and procedures.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment to uphold safety and infection control standards.
