Medical Assistant 3, Upper Keys and Homestead Internal Medicine, $3000K, FT, Schedule Varies
About The Position
Works under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s) and clinic supervisor/manager and is responsible for assisting the physicians in the practice. Assists in examination and treatment of patients, rooms patients and obtains information, measures vital signs (i.e.: pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, pulse oximeter, pain level, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts/Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Also collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. Serves as a resource to new medical assistants regularly and consistently and orients new employees. Assists the clinic leadership team with orienting employees, ongoing competencies for MAs, reviewing/revising processes, and audits of the medical assistant team. Estimated pay range for this position is $22.53 - $29.29 / hour depending on experience. Hybrid – Based in Homestead; travel to Upper Keys only as needed to provide PTO coverage. Must also be available to cover same-day absences when needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED or equivalent training or experience required.
- Registered Medical Assistant.
- Must have at least one of the required licenses/certifications (CMA, RMA, CNA, LPN, EMT, Paramedic).
- BLS required for all.
- CNA, LPN, EMT license must be from Florida.
- Must be a professional, detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
- Possesses compassionate demeanor, excellent customer service skills and high ethical standards.
- HIPAA/OSHA compliance required.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.
- Proficient in computer applications and typing skills.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems required.
- Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines and Medical Terminology required.
- Leadership skills a must.

Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Bilingual preferred.
- For Primary Care Practices, EKG and Phlebotomy Certifications are also required for employees with the CNA license only.
