About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience or training in endoscopy technology or related clinical procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in an endoscopy or gastroenterology department.
  • Certification in Endoscopy Technician or similar specialized credential.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control standards specific to endoscopic procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by verifying medical histories, explaining the process, and addressing patient concerns.
  • Assist physicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures by handling instruments, monitoring patient status, and ensuring procedural efficiency.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopic equipment and instruments following established infection control protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and equipment maintenance logs in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Coordinate with the healthcare team to schedule procedures, manage supplies, and ensure the endoscopy suite is properly stocked and organized.
