About The Position

Under the general supervision of the practice supervisor, guided by the policies and procedures of the Transplant Service, the Department of Surgery, and the Ambulatory Services the HAIII is responsible for all functions associated with supporting the kidney and/or liver transplant program. The incumbent consistently projects as a professional and courteous demeanor; the HA III is required to comply with the Medical Center House and Telephone Standards. In support of the abdominal transplant program, the incumbent will: Staff all clinics as assigned, Perform routine duties in clinic, including vital signs, weight, and medication review Perform assigned duties in the transplant office in support of post-transplant patient management. These duties include scheduling studies and tests, completing medication refill requests, and sending orders to requested labs and other facilities. Communicate with patients about plan of care. Work collaboratively with the clinical staff, including other MAs, LVNs, RNs, MDs, and APPs. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $29.63 - $36.99 (Hourly Rate). Requirements

  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
  • At least one experience as a medical assistant in a large, busy clinic
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
