About The Position

The Medical Assistant 2 at BHMG Upper Keys-Gastro works under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s) and clinic supervisor/manager. This role is responsible for assisting the physicians in the practice, which includes assisting in the examination and treatment of patients, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts/Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The Medical Assistant also collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis and serves as a mentor to help train new medical assistants. The estimated pay range for this position is $19.15 - $24.90 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED, training, experience).
• Must have at least one of the following licenses/certifications: MA, CNA, LPN, EMT, Paramedic.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CNA, LPN, EMT license must be from Florida.
• Proficient in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment efficiently.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual preferred.
• Knowledge of Health Care regulatory guidelines and Medical Terminology.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in the examination and treatment of patients.
• Room patients and obtain vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, pulse oximeter, pain level, weight, and height).
• Record information on patients' charts/Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Mentor and train new medical assistants.
